T'WAY AIR One Step Closer to Guam Air Service

The A. B. Won Pat International Airport Authority, Guam is pleased to receive word that T'way Air Co., Ltd. is one step closer to serving Guam after they filed their application with the U.S. Department of Transportation for a foreign carrier permit and for exemption authority under U.S.-Korea Open Skies.
T'way Air plans to begin daily scheduled air service between Seoul and Guam by July 2015, utilizing a Boeing 737-800 aircraft with an all-economy configuration.
The airline is a privately owned company, low-cost carrier (LCC), based in Seoul, Republic of South Korea with no ownership by the South Korean government. It began domestic operations within Korean in 2010 and currently operates ten (10) international routes: Bangkok, Thailand; Fukuoka, Saga, Sapporo, Oita, and Okinawa, Japan; Jinan, Haikou, and Nanning, People’s Republic of China; and Taipei, Taiwan. By next month, the LCC plans to add Seoul, Korea–Osaka, Japan and Daegu, Korea–Shanghai, China to their international routes.
"This is great news! Once airlines file with USDOT and actually have a docket number, we know they mean serious business." stated Charles H. Ada, Airport Executive Manager. He added that "We already have Korean Air, Jeju Air, Jinair, United Airlines and Air Busan servicing Guam and Korea. Now T’way Air is getting ready to join, proof of our strong Korean market and airlines responding to this demand."
