Arrests at Airport
Friday, November 14, 2014
Airport Police, in its response to reports of missing property and inquiry into Lost and Found, have uncovered a ring involved in theft of property on Airport premises. Thus far, five (5) arrests have been made.
"We have been receiving a lot of inquiries into lost and found, and reports of missing property from passengers and users of the Airport terminal facility," stated Peter Roy Martinez, Acting Executive Manager. "Our Airport Police investigated these reports and discovered a group of tenant employees were in possession of many of the missing items, some of very high value. These employees work in support functions for the airlines that operate at the Guam International Airport," Mr. Martinez stated.
Mr. Martinez continued. "Together with our airlines and tenants, we are committed to protecting our passengers, employees and the public from any type of infringement and/ or breach. We take these things seriously, and these crimes have federal and local consequences, punishable by law. "
Because this case is still under investigation, no further details can be released.
