FAA Announces PERFECT SCORE for Guam Airport Annual Certification Inspection

June 9, 2016 — The Board, Management and Staff at the A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority, Guam are in a celebratory mood and ecstatic with the recent news out of the Honolulu Airports Districts Office (ADO), Western Pacific Region of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

On June 3, 2016, the FAA conducted its annual certification inspection of Guam's only civilian airport to determine compliance with 14 U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 139, the Airport's Certification Manual and the Airport Operating Certificate. The inspection is a extensive process covering 123 fields of federal compliance.

The Guam International Airport received commendation early this morning from the FAA Airport Certification Safety Inspector, Juan S. Reyes, A.C.E. that Guam's inspection was an astounding success and we passed with flying colors earning the recognition of the first airport in the pacific islands to ever obtain a PERFECT 100% score. This outstanding result is evident in the airport's strict adherence to the highest standards in the procedures and operations of the airport.

Executive Manager Charles H. Ada ll expressed his pride and appreciation of the Airport employees. "We take our jobs seriously here at the Airport. When we say we're on it 24/7, we mean it! I'm so proud of my team and I appreciate the great teamwork that made this perfect score possible!"

The Board Chairman piped in also with his kudos to the staff and management of the airport echoing his pride and the commitment of the Board to develop policies that support the employees and allow them to do the great work they do.

Acting Chairman Martin J. Gerber, on behalf of his fellow Board Directors, congratulated the Airport staff and Management team in accomplishing such a milestone. He also commended Executive Manager Ada for a "job well done" as Mr. Ada had indicated to the Board early on, that he would strive to attain a perfect score. "This is an incredible achievement for the Airport", stated Chairman Gerber and further added, "This should be a proud day not only for the Airport but for all of Guam!"
