GIAA Chiller Affected by Power Surges
Wednesday, May 23, 2012
The A.B. Won Pat International Airport Authority, Guam (GIAA) continues their work on upgrading their air conditioning units and undertaking repairs and preventive maintenance measures on the chillers. All airport operations have and will continue to remain uninterrupted although recent power surges have adversely affected the upgrading and maintenance efforts.
Portable cooling units and commercial sized fans have been deployed throughout the terminal to mitigate the inconvenience of increased temperatures on our passengers and tenants especially in high traffic areas and during our peak operating hours.
“We apologize for any inconvenience the increased temperatures may cause and we appreciate everyone’s; our airport tenants, users, and passengers for their continued understanding as we weather this together. We are putting full effort into bringing the chillers to 100% capacity before the real heat of the summer months kick in.” stated Executive Manager Chuck Ada.
